Starting as SVP, Global Product & Innovation, I moved onto Active Network’s first Chief Product Officer (CPO) role, overseeing the Company’s Product Management, User Experience Research and Design, SEO, Business Analysis, Front End Engineering and QA, Product Media Services and Innovation teams. Key accomplishments:

  • Built a two-sided global marketplace for activities and events, connecting participants and activity organizers, and reaching 25% of US households and over 47,000 organizations.

  • Expanded ACTIVE’s marketplace to include 200,000 activities, 102 million registrations and over $3.4 billion of transactions processed. Notably, 50% of interactions happening through a mobile device.

  • Launched and commercialized the company first cloud-based data intelligence suite of products, and the industry first predictive and prescriptive analytics.

  • Built an attractive and scalable business model with ~90% annual recurring revenue, growing revenue 40% and expanding EBITDA margins from 1% to over 24%.

Through rigor and market focused decisions, the product teams led ACTIVE Network through two successful transactions: first, in 2013 we took the company private with a successful sale to Vista Equity Partners. Subsequently in late 2017, as the result of further operational synergies and transformations, the company was sold to Global Payments, Inc. (NYSE: GPN).

As the Head of User Experience & Content, I led Product Design, Information Architecture (IA), User Experience (UX), Content, CMS, Copywriting, SEO and UX Research.

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, Global CIO and Head of Product, I was charged with making Monster Worldwide family of sites best-in-class products for job seekers, recruiting customers and consumer advertisers. To deliver on this goal, I focused on 3 key themes: reach, revenue and team. Key accomplishments:

  • Extended Monster’s consumer reach with the release of innovative mobile and social products.

  • Maximized revenue growth by optimizing the conversion of seekers to applicants on 3 most critical revenue and lead-generating areas of the site: the homepage, job search and browse applications.

  • Restructured the team around key product lines and changed the methodology of architecting and designing products. I developed a business system that aligns all Monster products and brands onto a unique framework, and supports rapid launch and iteration, while improving product quality.

  • Created an organizational structure that would maximize the competitive advantage of the Company’s powerful portfolio of brands by creating a network of partners to derive benefit from, and integrating them into the company operating model.

  • Delivered a unifying platform that redefined how media assets come together, maximizing advertising revenue opportunities.

Consulted with George Lucas’ THX Ltd. to re-launch their online business.
In order to meet the company’s aggressive timeline, I assembled a team of talented and experienced designers and engineers in NYC.
Leading this team, I articulated the key user experience, revenue drivers, customer value propositions and competitive differentiators of THX.com and brought focus on defining competitive pressures and market dynamics influencing THX.com redesign.
Ultimately, the team devised and executed product strategy, SEO, IA, brand identity/visual design, front-end engineering and CMS.
